173 - Jesse Harless of Entrepreneurs in Recovery: We All Are Addicted To Something And We Can Recover
Show Notes

Nick Hughes is joined by Jesse Harless, an author, professional facilitator and coach, and founder of Entrepreneurs in Recovery, LLC from Concord NH.  Jesse started Entrepreneurs in Recovery® in 2017 to transform the lives of 5000 men and women in addiction recovery through one-on-one coaching, facilitation and speaking. He's expanded his work into communities, certified addiction recovery coaching, workplaces, and sober living residences throughout the United States. He's also an XCHANGE certified guide and faculty member with a deep passion for facilitating meaningful conversations to bring out the best in people, the community and the world.

The episode starts with Nick and Jesse discussing how they met through mutual connections, and how Nick listened to his interview on Hal Elrod’s podcast and determined to have Jesse on this podcast. We then hear Jesse detail his early life experience with serious addiction, which tremendously influenced his work and company today. Jesse says we all are addicted to things - good and bad - and they then discuss some warning signs of trouble. If people are ready to make a change, Jesse discusses what steps he would you suggest someone takes to get help. They then dive deeper into the intersection of entrepreneurship and addiction, why they think entrepreneurs are susceptible to it and what the options are for help. They both wonder how we push hard to achieve our goals and yet balance the ‘neurotransmitters’ of ups and downs of the founder's journey.  Lastly, they discuss a few topics from Jesse's latest book - IF NOT YOU, THEN WHO? This is an incredibly touching conversation with an entrepreneur who has set out to help  many other people with options and advice on how to overcome addiction in their own life, we hope it helps you today.
